Who We Are

Who We Are

US

Sower Church is a vibrant, multi-ethnic Christian community in Lincoln, NE that is passionate about Jesus. We desire to love people where they’re at, and see all grow in a rich, meaningful relationship with God.

VISION

To make authentic disciples of Jesus Christ who love and worship God in all they do.

VALUES

The Great Commission and the Great Commandment drive our church. The Great Commission tells us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It says to teach them all that Jesus commanded (Mark 12:29-31).  As Christ changes us, we want others to experience the incredible hope and life we have in Him!

Most of all, the Great Commandment tells us to love “the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind and with all of your strength, and love your neighbor as your yourself,” for there is no other commandment greater than these (Mark 12:29-31). And so, we strive to love God and love people the best we can.

These two principles are at the center of everything we do from Sunday morning to our everyday lives.

FOCUS

GOSPEL CULTURE

The Gospel is for everyone. It drives us to go and make disciples as Jesus commands and is at the center of our preaching every week.

We place our faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that it has the power to transform lives (Romans 1:16). Our church family can proclaim that their lives have been changed by the Gospel because God so loved the world that he sent his one and only son and that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). But also, believing in the Gospel means we aim to share it with others.

COMMUNITY CULTURE

Community is about helping each other grow in our faith through Community Groups, prayer, reading our Bibles, serving our community, but most of all being there for each other when life gets hard. And it does.

We value the church family we have because it truly is a Family. God sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6) God has given us men and women of all different ethnicities and ages to help each other navigate through life with a Biblical worldview, not just aimlessly searching around in the dark.

GENEROSITY CULTURE

God is not asking us to give because He needs it but because of what it does in our lives.

We believe that as Christians, we should strive to be the most generous, as Christ has been to us – whether with money (to support our community or missionaries) or with our time (to serve those around us). After all,  Acts 20:35 says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.
