I have truly felt God’s love and goodness.
I was raised in a Christian family in small town Nebraska and saved at a young age. In my teenage years, God started me on a difficult, 7-year journey that would test my faith. I thought I would be able to face these challenges on my own, but I was wrong. I learned that lesson the hard way. My life changed dramatically when I joined the US Marine Corps: what little faith I had was instantly crushed in the harsh environment I was exposed to.
Eventually, I was provided with an opportunity closer to home (California) and got connected to a church, where God finally gave me a sense of purpose. After a year, I came home to Nebraska, and God led me to Candlewood Church, where I have built lasting relationships with a community that cares for one another. I have truly felt God’s love and goodness. As He has been restoring me from past hurts that I kept bottled up, I have had tremendous support and comfort from the people around me. Through trials, God has shaped me into the man I am today, and I wouldn’t take any of it back.
